Foundation For Medical Care Print

The Stanislaus Foundation for Medical Care (Stanislaus Foundation) was formed by the physicians of the Stanislaus Medical Society and was established to guarantee the delivery of quality medical care on a pre-payment basis at a just and equitable cost to both patient and physician.

Stanislaus Foundation, incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1965, is a health management system created and operated by local physicians to serve the best interests of the public and professional community. Stanislaus Foundation is part of the California Foundation for Medical Care (CFMC) with over 400 hospitals, 27,000 physicians and 5000 ancillary providers statewide.

The Foundation Concept Print

The first Foundation for Medical Care was formed more than 60 years ago to offer managed care services – without interfering with a patient’s most basic right to choose and receive medical care from the health care provider of their choice. As physician-directed organizations, we understand the value and highly sensitive nature of the physician/patient relationship and our goal is to keep health care decisions within that trusted relationship.

By offering a comprehensive network of health care providers, careful utilization and peer review, a state-of-the-art system for claims processing, detailed statistical reporting and centralized accountability for plan administration, we believe that Foundations offer the best of all worlds; cost-containment, savings, choice and access to high quality medical care which is too often taken for granted.
